Presenter will outline a new model for patients who have had multiple treatment experiences that utilizes elements of Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Positive Psychology. The new model seeks to help patients change their deep-rooted identities from substance user to recovering person and to help the patient dwell less on the past and look more to the future in order to make solid commitments to a course of action that will support ongoing abstinence.
