January Chapter Meeting

Presentation by: Michelle Monzo, BA CIS (Crisis Intervention Education Specialist @Montgomery County Emergency Services)

Ms. Monzo has been with Montgomery County Emergency Service Inc for 29 years and is currently the instructor for the MCES Crisis Intervention Specialist Police School. The CIS police school is the oldest crisis intervention law enforcement school in the country. The CIS School is designed to train law enforcement, Emergency responders/criminal justice personnel in dealing with mental health consumers in crisis. Ms. Monzo has traveled nationwide presenting the CIS School and also provides training to community agencies, universities, schools, and numerous other agencies on Crisis Intervention.

 

 Ms Monzo is currently certified in CISM and Peer Support for first responders, a certified Aging and Adult Protective Service Agent,  a negotiator, trained by the FBI, NYPD and Homeland security and serves on the board of the Delaware Valley regional negotiators. Ms Monzo has experience in Mobil Crisis Intervention and was a member of the Mobile Crisis Intervention team for 16 years.
